Videoculture: learn, create and design through video and digital art (online)
From 19/03/2025 to 03/04/2025
Through an interdisciplinary and transversal perspective, this path of 5 online lessons offers an in-depth look at fundamental themes related to the world of video art and digital, accompanying participants through the perspective of industry experts.
Each appointment, lasting 2 hours, will allow you to delve deeper into the history of video and its artistic evolution, collecting and market, exhibit design, sound design and video conservation, alternating theoretical ideas and case studies.
This series of events is designed for those who wish to understand the importance of video as an artistic product and as a tool for analysis and critical reflection, exploring its potential in addressing the most current issues of contemporary society and its impact on the contemporary art scene.

Day 1 - 19 March, 7 - 9 pm
History of video art and digital art: from the 1960s to today
With Prof. Alessandro Amaducci, professor at the University of Turin
Experimental movement video art that has creatively used television technology to configure its own experimental audiovisual language, over time has faced inevitable technological and aesthetic progress: the advent of digital, contamination with other genres (such as music videos, digital cinema, animation, fashion films), transforming itself into a pervasive aesthetic universe present, in various forms, in all fields of audiovisual production. The course aims to briefly address the extraordinary history of a language that is sometimes radically experimental and in continuous change. -

Making the Invisible Visible: Sound Design from Perception to Emotion
With Paolo Armao
This lesson explores the creative process of Sound Design and Music for Pictures, revealing how these elements intertwine in storytelling to transform the visual experience. Through concrete examples and live demonstrations, strategies for defining sonic aesthetics and creative solutions will be analyzed right from the writing and pre-production phases, with the aim of enriching the story, amplifying the experience of the characters and creating a lasting emotional impact.
A journey that reveals the hidden potential of sound, an invisible but essential protagonist, capable of transforming every story. -
Day 3 - 27 March, 7 - 9 pm
Designing a video exhibition: focus on exhibit design
With Andrea Isola, designer and freelance planner
Together with Andrea Isola, we will explore the main installation techniques for video art exhibitions, analyzing concrete examples and significant case studies. The objective will be to understand how space and technology influence the visual and narrative experience of the work, analyzing efficient solutions in line with the budgets and briefs available. -

Collectibles and the videoart market
With Iole Pellion di Persano, founder and director of Recontemporary Fondazione ETS
When we talk about video we always think of a small portion of the contemporary art market and without collecting but over time video has built its support networks between commissions, festivals, institutions and private collections. Knowing the system for those approaching this sector is essential to learn how to protect both the artist himself and the collector. During the lesson we will talk about editions, authenticity, price, types of collecting and users with the aim of giving a complete overview of each type of work of art. -
Day 5 - 3 April, 7 - 9 pm
New Trend - The new frontiers of video art and new media
With Carolina Ciuti, director of Exibart Spain
The lesson will provide an in-depth analysis of the evolution of video art since the 1960s, examining the main technical, aesthetic and conceptual developments that have shaped the contemporary landscape of digital art and video. New emerging trends will be explored, with particular attention to the influence of digital and interactive technologies. The goal is to offer participants a critical understanding of the dynamics that define the sector.
