AI Image and Video Creation Workshop — Megan Volpe

07/02/2026

A full day dedicated to transforming a static image into a moving one: from prompt to animation, from visual consistency to action.

In this workshop we will work on:
– AI image and video generation
– writing effective prompts
– controlled animation (camera movements, seed, frames)
– building a coherent sequence
– refinement, fast editing, and publishing

A hands-on path designed for creatives, designers, artists, and communicators who want to use AI as a conscious tool, not as a random effect.

The workshop is for beginners. Participants must bring their own laptop and have one of the following programs already installed and working for the final session:
Free and basic options, professional software (if already owned), iMovie (Mac), Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut Desktop (Windows/Mac), Final Cut Pro, Windows built-in Video Editor, or DaVinci Resolve.

Activities

  • Session 1 — 09:00 - 10:15 The Landscape of Image and Video Tools

    * Image generation: Introduction to Midjourney, Leonardo.ai, Runway
    * Video generation: Overview of market leaders (Runway Gen-2, Kling, Veo, Sora-like models)
    * The fundamental difference between Text-to-Video and Image-to-Video
  • Session 2 — 10:15 - 10:45 The Anatomy of the Perfect Prompt

    * Prompt structure: subject, style, technical details (lighting, composition).
    * AI assistants: using tools such as ChatGPT/Gemini to expand, refine, and translate prompts effectively.
    * Lab 1: Creating the base image – each participant generates a starting image (using, for example, Leonardo or Midjourney).
  • Coffee Break — 10:45 - 11:00
  • Session 3 — 11:00 - 12:30 Animating Images

    * Analysis of classic camera movements (simulated by AI): zoom in/out, pan (lateral movement), dolly (move closer/farther).
    * How to specify these movements through prompts.
    * Seed/frame technique: how to use the last frame of a generated video or the “seed” to create the next clip, ensuring visual consistency.
  • Lunch Break — 12:30am - 1:30pm
  • Session 4 — 1:30 - 3:45pm Creating Consistency with a Character, a Setting, or an Object
    * Creating a sequence of coherent animations with specific elements (characters, objects, settings) and refining them professionally using dedicated AI tools for upscaling and quality enhancement. Participants will create 5 coherent images (with the same subject, setting, or main object—animated or inanimate) ready for animation.
  • Coffee Break — 3:45 - 4:00pm
  • Session 5 — 4:00 - 5:30pm Refinement (Upscaling and Fast Editing)
    * Lab 3: The coherent mini-film – animating the 5 coherent images and quickly editing them to create a sequence that tells a micro-story. Using a basic editor (already owned by participants) to combine the clips. Use of Suno, music, and Pixabay.
  • Comments, difficulties — 5.30 - 6.00pm

Megan Volpe

Megan Volpe (b. 1994) is a multimedia artist and filmmaker whose practice investigates identity through a metacognitive lens, employing new media as a tool for psychological inquiry. Rooted in a deconstructive approach to her background in film direction, Volpe constructs symbolic narratives that materialize through video art, artificial intelligence, immersive soundscapes, and site-specific installations.
Her work originates from an early engagement with art as a therapeutic and emotionally generative practice. By fragmenting and analyzing her personal experience, Volpe reveals psychological patterns that are then transposed into broader social and communal dimensions. Her artistic language draws from the grotesque, blending soft color palettes with ambiguous characters, geometric framing with disjointed editing, and liminal spaces with psychological landscapes. These elements come together to form “mental rooms”—environments in which psychic and neurological processes unfold. Volpe’s practice is ultimately a search for meaning: a therapeutic confrontation with new media and a process of reconnection with the self.
