Megan Volpe

Megan Volpe (1994) is a multimedia artist and filmmaker whose practice explores identity through a metacognitive lens, employing new media as a tool for psychological inquiry. Rooted in a deconstructive approach derived from her background in filmmaking, Volpe constructs symbolic narratives that materialize through video art, artificial intelligence, immersive soundscapes, and site-specific installations.
Her work stems from an early approach to art as a therapeutic and emotionally generative practice. By fragmenting and analyzing her personal experience, Volpe reveals psychological patterns that are then transposed into broader social and community dimensions. Her artistic language draws on the grotesque, blending muted color palettes with ambiguous characters, geometric framing with disjointed editing, and liminal spaces with psychological landscapes. These elements come together to form "mental rooms," environments in which psychic and neurological processes unfold. Volpe's practice is ultimately a search for meaning: a therapeutic engagement with new media and a process of reconnecting with oneself.
