How do you set up a video art exhibition?
Full immersion in the practice of setting up video art exhibitions with the exhibit designer Andrea Isola. From the in-depth analysis of AES+F,the artists, to the design of their exhibition Inverso Mundus at Recontemporary during Artissima.
Theme of the exhibition: the world upside down
Objective: to arrive at the end of the workshop with two different proposals to propose to the artists.
The proposals will be evaluated according to criteria of economic and environmental sustainability, accessibility, coherence with the theme of the exhibition, poetics of the artists and space, aesthetics and functionality.
For those who wish, it is also possible to follow the setting up on 26/27/28 October. Recontemporary will provide pencils and paper for drafting the proposals, a laptop is required.

Activities

  • October 21st | 5 - 8pm | online
    Theory lesson aimed at preparing the exhibition. A video exhibition: problems and possibilities of the medium.
  • 22/23 October | 10am - 6pm (with lunch break) | from Recontemporary
    Presentation of Recontemporary, of the artist and of the works on display. Work and creation of set-up proposals in groups, production of moodboards/sketches/presentations, motivation of the choices. Review with Andrea and budget forecast. Evaluation of the proposals according to criteria of economic and environmental sustainability, accessibility, consistency with the theme of the exhibition, poetics of the artist and of the space, aesthetics and functionality.
