3D Animation — Karol Sudolski

From 11/10/2020 to 12/10/2020

Recontemporary presents for the first time in Turin a two-day workshop curated by Karol Sudolski born from the interest in the creative process that leads to the creation of his works.
Digital landscapes, floating objects, a chaos of foreign bodies set in surreal and hypnotic scenography.
During the two-day workshop Karol will explain how to develop an animated composition in 3D starting from photogrammetry scans of objects and body parts until arriving, at the end of the day on Monday, to the production of a video.
It will be necessary to have a computer, a digital camera (alternatively, also a cell phone with a good camera) and a basic knowledge of one of the following programs: Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D, Blender.

Karol Sudolski

I was born in Poland, raised in the mountains of Northern Italy. I have been living in Milan for 10 years, since I enrolled at the Polytechnic of Milan. I never wanted to be an artist, nor deal with 3D. It's all due to accidents along the way. First the discovery of Photogrammetry, the poetic and alienating rendering of scanned human skin and the errors of digitalization of bodies. Music (starting from L I M to Mecna, up to MAHMOOD) allowed me to experiment and grow freely. Then, a second accident, Valentino's Instagram filter, opened the doors of AR to me. I like what I do because it feels like I'm playing with a mix of digital errors and images that years of MTV and video games have stuck in my brain.
