Digital landscapes, floating objects, a chaos of foreign bodies set in surreal and hypnotizing settings. Recontemporary presents for the first time in Turin a two-day workshop curated by Karol Sudolski born from the interest in the creative process that leads to the creation of his works.
During the two days of the laboratory Karol will explain how to develop an animated 3D composition starting from photogrammetry scans of objects and body parts up to the production of a video at the end of the day on Monday. It will be necessary to have a computer, a digital camera (alternatively, even a mobile phone with a good camera) and a knowledge base of one of the following programs: Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D, Blender.
Author biography
I was born in Poland, raised in the mountains of Northern Italy. I have been living in Milan for 10 years, since I enrolled at the Politecnico di Milano. I never wanted to be an artist or deal with 3D. It’s all the fault of road accidents. First the discovery of Photogrammetry, the poetic and alienating rendering of scanned human skin and of the digitization errors of bodies. Music (starting from L I M a Mecna, up to MAHMOOD) has allowed me to experiment and grow freely. Then, a second incident, Valentino’s Instagram filter, opened the doors to AR for me. I like what I do because it feels like I’m playing with a mix of digital errors and images that years of mtv and video games have stuck in my brain.
