You are my anchor point – Karol Sudolski

Seeyousound and Recontemporary present, on the occasion of the eighth edition of the festival, You are my anchor point, the first solo exhibition by visual artist Karol Sudolski. The anchor point, the center of gravity of a system of bodies, a point in three-dimensional space around which external forces of transformation act, a pivotal point of rotation, a focus of attention, an origin from which particles are born, fragments of textures dictated by aesthetics and apparent chaos. Video clips, works in augmented reality and photogrammetry create a scenario that is difficult to define, dominated by color and references to everyday life. A landscape that welcomes you in its paradoxical and dreamlike intimacy, but at the same time, as if it were an oxymoron, makes you lose all connection with real life, depriving you of your bearings. The same feeling of disorientation that you get when, upon awakening from a dream, you can’t find the right words to describe it.

You are my anchor point is an archive of fragmented entities created through photogrammetry that come to life in an ethereal and strictly personal space, thus bringing out the artist’s vision. At the heart of the work is the deconstruction of the body which, reduced to a mere surface, pushes us to reconsider our concept of interior and exterior, individual and group, reality and representation.
