After her studies in architecture, Agathe Rosa quickly decided to abandon the construction, because she was interested not so much in drawing physical limits that define a space but in the invisible forces that act within it. Her approach to architecture is phenomenological: she derives from the experience of places. The artist considers the environment not as composed of void or inert matter, but as a real living organism with which it is possible to interact. The means she uses to get in touch with the environment is light, thanks to its ability to make matter vibrate, to change points of view and to question one’s own conception of things. It is when matter becomes movement and interaction of forces, that it is then possible to dialogue with what remains imperceptible to the eye. To allow the elements to speak, it is necessary to listen to them: it is necessary to put oneself at their level and re-evaluate one’s relationship with time and space. Two conditions are therefore essential: a slowing down of time, to welcome contemplation, and the commitment of all the senses to immerse themselves and get in tune.

The intent of the exhibition L’altro canto is to choose some key elements of the artist’s research and weave a common thread, a line of thought, and propose a journey. A path that starts from within the stone to reach the heart of the stars, a temporal space that facilitates a resonance of the intimacy contained in everything, a place of encounter with the other: stone, water, light, the wind, the stars. The exhibition consists of four times: the time of stone, water, sky and stars. All united by a common denominator: light. Each video is associated with a different way of looking: outdoors, sitting, lying down and standing. Using the whole body to observe an image is an integral part of Agathe’s work. In fact, she believes that it is by engaging the whole body that opening and, consequently, dialogue can be facilitated. In this way, the journey she proposes is experienced through the eyes, the legs, the spine and the shoulders.
