In keeping with Recontemporary’s principles, always striving to foster collaborations (and new friendships), we are happy and proud to celebrate the cultural association’s fourth anniversary with the organizations and friends who have contributed, supported, and encouraged the project’s growth and development.
On July 12th, Rec will host, in collaboration with Recall and Seeyousound International Music Film Festival, TUTTO SCORRE, a soundtrack for the musical project PALINDROME, based on the short film Venezia [yet to be identified], courtesy of the National Cinema Museum in Turin.
Venice, early 1900s. An unidentified documentary recounts life in the city eternally divided between land and sea. From the canals to the turns on Piazza San Marco, the Grand Canal, the Rialto Bridge, the lives of its inhabitants. Everything flows.
For the soundtrack, the main elements of the composition were recorded on tape immersed in water before and after recording. Elements as sensitive and fragile to the deterioration of water as film is to air and the passing of moments. Distant echoes recall the shadows of a nearly erased past, notes mark an increasingly overwhelming time. The water, now absorbed by the tape, dialogues with the waves of images in a soft white noise. Everything flows.

PALINDROME
They are an avant-pop-electronic duo based in Italy, formed by Paolo Peyron and Alessandro Maccarrone. Their first EP was released in 2018, where they began to share the project's main goals. Their music explores oppositions, lyrics and images, where calm and tension, man and nature, love and hate coexist. Crossing genres and sounds, organic piano loops merge with violent synths, vocal lines clash with cinematic atmospheres. A hybrid of ambient, electronic pop, and weightless music. Their debut album, "Forever Endless," follows in the same vein. Fate, the fate of people's lives tangled in time and space, as well as the reflection of our actions in the lives of others, are the central concept behind the album. This is reflected in the structure of the mini LP, divided into four instrumental tracks and four vocal tracks. The music video for "The Same Path," the first single from their debut album, premiered on DICE.fm. The music video for "Birds" premiered on Ptwschool.

SEEYOUSOUND™ International Music Film Festival
Seeyousound International Music Film Festival is the first film festival in Italy entirely dedicated to music genre films. A multifaceted festival that explores music in its various facets and influences. National and international premieres make up four competition sections: LONG PLAY DOC (documentaries), LONG PLAY FEATURE (feature-length fiction films), 7 INCH (short films), and SOUNDIES (music videos). Two exhibition sections are added to the competition: INTO THE GROOVE, which has always been the festival's "pop" soul, blending genres and trends, ranging from new musical trends to cult names in world music history; and RISING SOUND, which is committed to discovering and presenting stories in which the inspirational power of music intertwines with global, social, and political issues, breaking away from the laws of the market and stereotypes; stories both distant and recent that can inspire, motivate, entertain, and provoke reflection.
National Cinema Museum of Turin
Unique in Italy and among the most important in the world, the National Cinema Museum is housed within the Mole Antonelliana in Turin, a symbol of the city. It is one of the most visited museums in Italy, thanks to its rich collection (over 2,200,000 pieces) and its exciting and astonishing exhibition layout, structured across multiple exhibition levels and spiraling upwards, following Antonelli's crescendo and superimposing different levels of interpretation.
The National Cinema Museum, thanks to its wide range of scientific and educational activities, is a hub of cultural initiatives among the most important nationally and internationally. It organizes exclusive exhibitions, conducts cutting-edge research on the conservation of materials and the history of cinema, offers a vast restoration program, and organizes publishing initiatives, film festivals, meetings with filmmakers and protagonists, and educational programs.
The National Cinema Museum hosts three major international film festivals: the Torino Film Festival, the CinemAmbiente Festival, and the Lovers Film Festival, as well as the TorinoFilmLab, a laboratory that supports talent from around the world through training and development programs, supporting production and distribution.
