Sezione Tascabili — Studio Norma
From 17/09/2021 to 19/02/2021
Turin-based graphic design studio Norma is exhibiting 10 graphic design projects that contributed to the history of Italian publishing between the mid-1960s and the early 1980s. Thanks to contributions from private collections, over 50 paperbacks are on display, published by Sansoni, Einaudi, Feltrinelli, Laterza, and Vallecchi, among others. Essays and novels, modest objects from popular editions whose covers were as prominent in the urban landscape of the time as the geometric forms of modern architecture.
The bold typographic solutions of renowned Italian designers, including Massimo Vignelli, Bob Noorda, Pino Tovaglia, and Bruno Munari, are the common thread throughout a physical and digital experience.
The exhibition, part of the Graphic Days® In the City circuit, aims to rediscover the material and structural value of publications now lost, hidden away on second-hand stalls.

Studio Norma
Norma is a Turin-based graphic design studio that explores the nihilistic possibility of eliminating aesthetic choice from the transmission of information. Norma does absolutely nothing special. Since 2018, Norma has experimented with radical ideas, creating graphic design, web development, editorial design, and corporate identity projects, believing that a quickly printed sheet of A4 paper with a Times New Roman font conveys a better and more effective message than any ornamentation or mystification.
