Gianluca Iadema

Gianluca IADEMA (*1996) is an Italian composer, performer, sound and multimedia artist, based in Bern (CH) and Graz (AT). His works and research are based on the exploration of digital and analogue imperfections, connected to the broader philosophical concept of matter in relation to audiovisual objects. He became increasingly interested in the structural correlations between sound and the visual environment, seeking ways in which elements from different sensory fields could be perceived as a single component, leading to an art form that can no longer be classified. This led him to turn his interest towards an artistic typology that takes into account all its expressions: from sound to architecture, from video to sculpture, through performance and light design and everything in between. On a sound level, Iadema focuses on the abstraction of stylistic elements from techno, glitch and pop music, focusing on their essence, fused with contemporary artistic experimentation.
His works include instrumental compositions with or without live electronics, multimedia installations and sculptures, fixed media audiovisual works, acoustic works and live performances.
